What are the recommended and minimum specifications of Windows computer to run our software on?
Our recommended specification
- Windows XP/Windows 7
- Intel Core Duo or equivalent
- Nvidia Geforce 8 equivalent or above graphics card
- 2 Gig of RAM
- Logitech Pro 9000 Webcam
For the minimum performance:
- Windows XP
- Intel Pentium 4/Amd Athlon
- 1 Gig RAM
- Graphics card (Geforce 6/radeon HD 2400 equivalent or above)
- Standard Webcam
What is the recommended specification of MAC to run our software on?
Intel based Macs running OSX 10.5 Leopard and above.
What are the optimum settings for my webcam?
You may need to adjust your webcam settings for optimum performance. To do this while running the AR application: Click on File, then Open
Webcam Settings. This will open up your webcam settings box. Select the ‘Available Formats’ pull down menu. This will give you a range
of pre set resolutions. Select the higher resolution options such as 640x480, 800x600 or 960x480. Now select the FPS (Frame Rate) pull down
menu, select the highest frame rate available 20 fps, or higher, this usually works best.
How does the printable symbol work?
Click on the link supplied to print out your symbol. Carefully cut around the edges of the ring or watch template and fold the straps down, making
sure to keep the symbol as flat as possible. Attach the symbol to your wrist. Now hold the symbol up to your webcam your virtual AR
product will now appear. Any folds or marks on the symbol or light glares will affect the tracking. Also make sure the area you are in is well lit,
not too bright but also not too dark either. Make sure you hold the symbol close enough to your webcam to be recognizable by your camera.
Why does the video image look very grainy and low resolution?
Select a higher resolution and frame rate from the webcam settings menu Go to the ‘File’ option on the top left of the screen, select this and
select ‘Webcam Settings’. The webcam setting box appears. Select the ‘Available formats’ scroll down menu and select the higher formats
available for your connected webcam: for example 640x480, 800x600 or 960x480. Now select the FPS (frame rate) scroll down menu.
Select the highest setting of 20fps or above, not select ‘apply’ and close then restart the augmented reality application
How can I show the application on a wide screen?
After the softare is installed and opened, just press the space bar to fit the wide screen. To go small again, press again the space bar.
Why doesn’t the 3D object track very well or jitters on the screen?
Ensure your computer meets the minimum specifications as listed above. Please also make sure you have installed the latest graphics drivers
from your graphics card manufacturer.
